Deputies were sent to the crash, just west of Scott Hudgens Drive, at about 8:01 p.m. Wednesday. The Cherokee Sheriff's Office said early findings show the Dodge Charger's driver lost control, went over the center line into oncoming lanes and hit a Kia Optima, then a Chevrolet Blazer. The Charger's driver has been identified as Bailey Eddy, 29, of Cartersville, and he died at the scene. The Kia's driver had minor injuries. The Blazer's driver was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries that were not life threatening.
What Remains Under Investigation in Canton
The Cherokee Sheriff's Office said the cause of the crash is still being investigated. No charges have been announced.
