2 Injured in Moore County Off‑Road Vehicle Accident
The rollover happened near the Blue West area of Lake Meredith, and one occupant was initially reported missing.
Two people were injured in an off-road vehicle rollover in the Blue West area of Lake Meredith in Moore County on October 31, according to the Moore County Sheriff's Office.
How the Lake Meredith Rollover Unfolded
Deputies were dispatched at around 10:30 p.m. after reports of a UTV rollover. The Moore County Sheriff's Office said responders were told one person was known to be hurt and another was missing. Emergency personnel set up a staging point by the bridge and found one of the two occupants there.
Deputies then used a sheriff's office UTV to escort EMS crews across rough rural terrain to the east side of the creek. Responders reached the second occupant, evaluated him at the scene and brought him back to the staging area. The sheriff's office said the driver and the passenger both had minor injuries.
What the Moore County Sheriff's Office Is Urging
Dumas Fire, Moore County EMS, Moore County Emergency Management and the National Park Service also took part in the response. The sheriff's office reminded operators and passengers of recreational vehicles to use safety precautions. No cause has been announced, and no charges have been reported.
Police often ask witnesses to come forward in the days after a crash. Even a small detail from someone who saw it can help fill in the picture.
From an earlier interview. General commentary, not about this crash, and not legal advice.Affected by an accident like this?
Here is what people in Texas usually need, in the order it comes up.
Emergency care. Emergency rooms must check and stabilize you, even if you can't pay. The bill comes later.
Your vehicle. Tow yards usually charge for every day a towed vehicle sits there.
Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.
Hospital bills. Most hospitals have a program that cuts bills for people with low income, and you can apply months after the first bill.
Insurance offer. You can turn down the insurer's first offer and ask for more.
