3 Injured in Crisp County Car Accident
The crash happened on the afternoon of October 28 on Highway 41 while a sheriff's deputy was responding to a structure fire.
A Crisp County sheriff's deputy and the people riding in another vehicle were hurt in a crash on Highway 41 in Crisp County on October 28. The Crisp County Sheriff's Office said every injury in the crash was minor.
What Happened on Highway 41
The sheriff's office said the deputy was driving south on Highway 41 that afternoon, heading to a structure fire with lights, siren and other emergency equipment activated. The sheriff's office said the deputy was trying to pass vehicles when another vehicle tried to turn left into a private driveway. The sheriff's office said the deputy tried to avoid a collision but struck that vehicle, and the patrol vehicle left the roadway and overturned. The deputy was taken to a hospital, and the people in the other vehicle were also hurt.
What the Crisp County Sheriff Has Said
The Crisp County Sheriff's Office has not announced any charges. It has not named the deputy or the people in the other vehicle, and it has not said how many people were in that vehicle. The agency said it was thankful the injuries were not more serious and asked the public to keep everyone involved in their thoughts as they recover.
A full investigation into a serious crash often takes weeks, and sometimes months. Investigators usually wait for vehicle data and lab results before they finish their report.
