The motorcyclist was a 40-year-old man from Fillmore who died at the scene on State Route 126 on Tuesday evening, the California Highway Patrol said.
A 40-year-old Fillmore man was killed in a motorcycle crash on State Route 126 in Ventura County on October 27, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Evening Collision on State Route 126
Officers with the California Highway Patrol's Ventura office came upon the crash shortly after it happened, at about 7:34 p.m., east of Wells Road. A black Suzuki motorcycle and a tractor-trailer were both part of the collision. The California Highway Patrol said the rider lost control and struck a guard rail in the center divide. The agency said the rider was thrown from the motorcycle, which kept moving northwest before it hit the tractor-trailer. The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at about 7:45 p.m. The man has not been named.
Where the Highway Patrol Investigation Stands
The California Highway Patrol said the crash remains under investigation. The roadway stayed closed until early the next morning while officers examined the scene. The agency asked anyone with information who has not yet spoken with investigators to call its Ventura office at 805-662-2640.
Investigators write down the weather, lighting and road surface after every serious crash. Recording those details is routine and does not point to any single cause.

Here is what families in California usually need, in the order it comes up.
Death certificates. The funeral home or the family can order them, and banks and insurers each usually want a copy.
Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.
Funeral costs. Every state has a victim fund that pays funeral costs after some crashes, and the fund decides who qualifies.
Survivor payments. If the person who died had worked, their spouse or children may get monthly Social Security payments. Applying early matters.
Insurance offer. You can turn down the insurer's first offer and ask for more.
