The fatal collision occurred in the 1300 block of South Main Street
Francisco Estrada Rivera, 37, of Santa Ana, died when his vehicle crashed into a tree in the 1300 block of South Main Street on July 20, 2025, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.

While the Santa Ana Police Department continues to investigate the sequence of events on South Main Street, families who lose a loved one in a crash often face a sudden and overwhelming search for answers.
Investigators are working to determine if a mechanical failure, a road hazard, or another factor caused the vehicle to veer off the road and into the tree. Detectives typically examine tire marks, vehicle data recorders, and other physical evidence to piece together the moments before the impact.
National Legal Analyst Stefano Formica, Of Bond Legal, stated, "Starting your recovery after a collision is a long and frightening process for any family."
Investigators will review physical evidence from the 1300 block of South Main Street, including the point of impact on the tree. Authorities will also look for any surveillance video from nearby businesses that may have captured the crash.
