The passenger has been identified as Taylor Orantes-Gibson of Hogansville, who suffered a broken back in the crash on Mooty Bridge Road.
Taylor Orantes-Gibson of Hogansville suffered a broken back in a truck crash on Mooty Bridge Road near Wynwood Drive in LaGrange on November 4, according to the LaGrange Police Department.
The Mooty Bridge Road Crash Near Wynwood Drive
The crash happened at about 1:15 p.m. Police said the driver, Clifford Arrington, also of Hogansville, was headed south on Mooty Bridge Road when his vehicle came up on a FedEx truck stopped in the roadway to turn left onto Wynwood Drive. Police said Arrington was going too fast to stop and swerved left, and the vehicle left the road and struck the corner of a home at 105 Wynwood Drive. Orantes-Gibson, the passenger, was taken from the scene and was later found to have a broken back. Arrington was not hurt, and the resident of Apartment A, identified as Pierre Bryant, was also uninjured.
What the LaGrange Police Department Has Reported
The LaGrange Police Department charged Arrington with following too closely, failing to maintain his lane, driving too fast for conditions and hitting a fixed object. The department said people can share information anonymously through its Tip411 system, using its mobile app, its online portal or a text with the word LAGRANGE to 847411.
Which agency investigates often depends on where the crash happened. Highway crashes are often handled by state police or highway patrol, and crashes on city streets by local officers.
