Man Killed in Los Angeles County Car Accident
The County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner identified the man as Jorge Medina Gonzalez, 40, who died in a crash on the northbound 110 Freeway.
Jorge Medina Gonzalez, 40, was killed in a multiple-vehicle car crash on the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway in Los Angeles County on November 1, according to the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner.
What Happened on the Northbound 110 Freeway
The California Highway Patrol was alerted to the crash at about 2:45 p.m., on the stretch of freeway just south of Vernon Avenue. Medina Gonzalez died at the freeway scene, the medical examiner said. His name was made public on Monday. The California Highway Patrol said his role in the crash, and whether he was a pedestrian, is part of the investigation.
What the Highway Patrol Is Still Determining
The California Highway Patrol is investigating, and no charges have been announced. A temporary Sigalert shut down three lanes of the freeway, the second, third and fourth. The agency has not said when those lanes reopened.
When police say a crash is still under investigation, it usually means they are still collecting evidence and have not reached any conclusions.

Here is what families in California usually need, in the order it comes up.
Death certificates. The funeral home or the family can order them, and banks and insurers each usually want a copy.
Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.
Funeral costs. Every state has a victim fund that pays funeral costs after some crashes, and the fund decides who qualifies.
Survivor payments. If the person who died had worked, their spouse or children may get monthly Social Security payments. Applying early matters.
Insurance offer. You can turn down the insurer's first offer and ask for more.
