The Sunday Night Crash on South Hope Chapel Road

Police, firefighters and medical crews were called to the eastern part of Jackson Township at about 8:10 p.m. on Sunday. The crash involved a motorcycle and a sedan and was reported as head-on. The man was semiconscious when crews reached him, so they called for a medical helicopter. A landing zone was set up at Jackson Liberty High School.

The man was lying some distance away from where the two vehicles met. Because of that distance, first responders at first thought a vehicle had hit a pedestrian. He was in serious condition that night.

Help for people affected by a crash is below.

What Is Known After the Jackson Response

The man's name has not been released, and there has been no update on his condition since the night of the crash. Authorities have not announced any charges. No details have been released about the driver of the sedan.

Witnesses can still make a difference days after a crash. Police often keep asking the public to come forward with anything they saw.

Affected by an accident like this?

Here is what people in New Jersey usually need, in the order it comes up.

  1. Emergency care. Emergency rooms must check and stabilize you, even if you can't pay. The bill comes later.

  2. Your vehicle. Tow yards usually charge for every day a towed vehicle sits there.

  3. Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.

  4. Hospital bills. Most hospitals have a program that cuts bills for people with low income, and you can apply months after the first bill.

  5. Insurance offer. You can turn down the insurer's first offer and ask for more.
