Passenger Injured in Mobile Car Accident
A woman in the passenger seat was taken to a hospital with minor injuries after a crash into a tree on Idaho Road.
A woman was injured in a car crash on Idaho Road in Mobile, according to the Mobile Police Department.
How the Idaho Road Crash Unfolded
Police said officers tried to stop a white Toyota truck on Schillinger Road and Airport Road, and the driver kept going. The truck then crashed into a tree near Idaho Road and Cresthaven Road, a dead-end stretch. A neighbor's surveillance camera recorded the crash, and a police cruiser was close behind. The airbags went off inside the truck, and the vehicle was totaled. Investigators said a woman was in the passenger seat, and she was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
What Mobile Police Are Still Working to Learn
More officers came to the scene and used a drone and a K-9 to search for the driver. The Mobile Police Department has not said who the driver is or why officers tried to stop the truck. The search for the driver was still underway.
Police often ask witnesses to come forward in the days after a crash. Even a small detail from someone who saw it can help fill in the picture.

Here is what people in Alabama usually need, in the order it comes up.
Emergency care. Emergency rooms must check and stabilize you, even if you can't pay. The bill comes later.
Your vehicle. Tow yards usually charge for every day a towed vehicle sits there.
Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.
Hospital bills. Most hospitals have a program that cuts bills for people with low income, and you can apply months after the first bill.
