The crash happened at about 11:30 p.m. near Bessemer Street. A Los Angeles police patrol car was answering an emergency call about a Halloween party when it struck the pedestrian, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. An LAPD lieutenant said firefighters responded and the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were hurt. The department said the patrol car came from its North Hollywood Division.
