Pedestrian Killed in Henry County Accident
The Georgia State Patrol said the pedestrian has been identified as Roderick Woods, 17, who died of his injuries after the crash on State Route 20.
Roderick Woods, 17, was killed in a pedestrian crash on State Route 20 at State Route 81 in Henry County on Nov. 3, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
The Night Crash Along State Route 20
Troopers were called to the area at about 8:27 p.m. Investigators said a Toyota Camry driven by a 25-year-old and a Kia Sportage driven by a 55-year-old were both heading west on State Route 20 near the State Route 81 intersection. Authorities said Woods tried to jog across the road from the north shoulder and entered the path of the Camry, which struck him. Troopers said the Kia then struck him as well. Woods was taken to Piedmont Henry Hospital, and he died there.
Where the Georgia State Patrol Review Stands
The Georgia State Patrol said neither driver faces charges at this time. Troopers have not announced any other developments in the investigation.
Investigators write down the weather, lighting and road surface after every serious crash. Recording those details is routine and does not point to any single cause.

Lost someone in a crash like this?
Here is what families in Georgia usually need, in the order it comes up.
Death certificates. The funeral home or the family can order them, and banks and insurers each usually want a copy.
Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.
Funeral costs. Every state has a victim fund that pays funeral costs after some crashes, and the fund decides who qualifies.
Survivor payments. If the person who died had worked, their spouse or children may get monthly Social Security payments. Applying early matters.
Insurance offer. You can turn down the insurer's first offer and ask for more.
