"Nobody thinks a routine trip to the store will end in a tragedy that brings immense grief to families," said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal. "Fatalities at intersections often occur because of a stale green light, where drivers accelerate too quickly to beat the yellow."

National Legal Analyst Stefano Formica, of Bond Legal, noted that "Most folks are shocked to learn that last-mile delivery drivers don't always have the same experience as long-haulers. Those transit vans are often pushed to the limit by tight schedules and heavy city traffic."

According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, driver-related factors such as impairment or fatigue play a role in a significant percentage of these deadly collisions. the corner of Highway 351 and Elmdale Road will remain a focal point for investigators as they reconstruct the collision.

Under Tex. Civ. Prac. & Rem. Code § 71.001, surviving family members may file a wrongful death action. Texas applies modified comparative fault. The statute of limitations is 2 years.
