1 Killed, 2 Injured in Shelby County Car Accident
One man died and two people were hurt early Sunday when a car overturned on Alabama 119 about a mile north of Pelham.
One man died and two people were hurt in a single-vehicle car crash on Alabama 119 north of Pelham on November 1, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said.
How the Alabama 119 Crash Unfolded
The crash happened at about 2:56 a.m. near mile marker 23. The agency said a 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG C63 left the road, hit an embankment and rolled over. The passenger, Zachary Fogle, 31, of Calera, was thrown from the car and died at the scene. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said Fogle had not buckled his seat belt. The driver and a second passenger were taken to UAB Hospital with injuries. Authorities have not released their names.
Where the ALEA Investigation Stands
The agency's Highway Patrol Division is investigating the crash. No charges have been announced.
Many newer cars keep a short record of the moments around a crash. Investigators may download that data, and making sense of it can take weeks.

Here is what families in Alabama usually need, in the order it comes up.
Death certificates. The funeral home or the family can order them, and banks and insurers each usually want a copy.
Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.
Funeral costs. Every state has a victim fund that pays funeral costs after some crashes, and the fund decides who qualifies.
Survivor payments. If the person who died had worked, their spouse or children may get monthly Social Security payments. Applying early matters.
Insurance offer. You can turn down the insurer's first offer and ask for more.
