1 Killed, 2 Injured in Walla Walla County Car Accident
The crash happened early Sunday on US-12, about six miles west of Walla Walla, according to the Washington State Patrol.
One passenger was killed and two other people were injured in a car crash on US-12 in Walla Walla County on November 1, according to the Washington State Patrol.
How the US-12 Rollover Unfolded
The crash happened at about 4:55 a.m. near milepost 327, roughly six miles west of Walla Walla. Troopers said a 2006 Honda Civic was traveling eastbound when it left the road, struck an embankment and rolled. The State Patrol identified the passenger who died as Ravonie K. Patterson, 20, of Umatilla, Oregon. She died at Providence St. Mary Medical Center, where she had been taken. The driver, Cyrus K. Peppinger, 19, of Othello, Washington, was injured and also taken to that hospital.
A second passenger, Kaiomi M. Morris, 20, of Pasco, was hurt and taken to a hospital as well. The State Patrol said the driver and Morris were wearing seat belts and that Patterson was not. The Civic was totaled.
Where the State Patrol Investigation Stands
The State Patrol said its report lists drugs or alcohol as involved in the crash, and the investigation continues. According to the State Patrol, the first report showed charges pending for the driver. Patterson's family was told of her death early Sunday.
An arrest at the scene is often only the first step. Formal charges are usually decided later by prosecutors.

Here is what families in Washington usually need, in the order it comes up.
Death certificates. The funeral home or the family can order them, and banks and insurers each usually want a copy.
Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.
Funeral costs. Every state has a victim fund that pays funeral costs after some crashes, and the fund decides who qualifies.
Survivor payments. If the person who died had worked, their spouse or children may get monthly Social Security payments. Applying early matters.
