What Happened on Morse Road
The crash involved several vehicles and sent seven people to the hospital, five of them children. A crash report lists a three-year-old child among the dead. The driver of another car has been identified as Myani Cheatham, 20, who was also killed. Her family said she was on her way to work that morning when a car with the children inside crossed the center line and hit her head on. Cheatham was hospitalized with serious injuries, and her family said an MRI scan showed no brain activity.
She died on Wednesday morning, several days after the collision. Her family said she was a devoted mother who worked hard to support her young son. The family is collecting money to pay for her funeral and to help care for him.
Where the Morse Road Investigation Stands
The Columbus Division of Police has not finished its investigation. Police asked anyone who saw the crash or recorded video of it to contact investigators. A department spokesperson said no new information is available about the others who were hurt. No charges have been announced.
Once a crash report is finished, the people involved and their families can usually request a copy from the agency that wrote it.
