4 Injured in Barrington Hills Truck Accident
Four people were hurt in a six-vehicle crash during the Monday morning rush on Route 62 near Bateman Road in Barrington Hills.
Four people were injured in a truck crash involving six vehicles on eastbound Route 62 in Barrington Hills on October 26, according to the Barrington Hills Police Department.
How the Route 62 Chain Collision Unfolded
Authorities arrived at the scene a little before 7 a.m. Deputy Police Chief Jason Currie said a landscaping truck towing a trailer made a right turn from Bateman Road into rush-hour traffic heading east. Currie said traffic ahead of the truck stopped abruptly and the truck could not stop in time.
Currie said the truck struck the vehicle in front of it, which set off a chain of collisions. Besides the landscaping truck, the vehicles included a Dodge Ram pickup, two Subaru SUVs, a Chevy Silverado pickup and a Genesis sedan. Currie said four people were taken to Ascension Saint Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates for treatment, and none of the injuries were considered life-threatening.
What Police Reported After the Barrington Hills Crash
The police department said the landscaping truck driver received a citation in connection with the crash. Route 62 stayed closed for roughly an hour and a half between Route 25 and Old Sutton Road. The people who were hurt have not been named.
Investigators work quickly at the scene because marks on the road and other evidence fade fast. Much of the slower work happens later, away from the scene.

Your vehicle. Tow yards usually charge for every day a towed vehicle sits there.
Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.
Hospital bills. Most hospitals have a program that cuts bills for people with low income, and you can apply months after the first bill.
