Sean M. Carter, 38, of Apache, was injured in a car crash on U.S. 62 in Lawton on October 28, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
What Happened at the U.S. 62 Intersection
The crash happened on a Wednesday afternoon. Trooper Jordan Fixico reported that a vehicle at the stop sign on U.S. 277, facing west, struck a northbound vehicle on U.S. 62 that Carter was driving. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the other driver failed to stop before the collision. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Carter was not wearing a seat belt and needed medical treatment for unspecified injuries. Troopers said the other driver, a 17-year-old from Lawton, and his passenger were not hurt.
What the Highway Patrol Report Shows
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol documented the crash in a report filed by Trooper Fixico. Troopers have not announced any charges. The patrol has not released further details about Carter's condition.
Investigators work quickly at the scene because marks on the road and other evidence fade fast. Much of the slower work happens later, away from the scene.

Here is what people in Oklahoma usually need, in the order it comes up.
Emergency care. Emergency rooms must check and stabilize you, even if you can't pay. The bill comes later.
Your vehicle. Tow yards usually charge for every day a towed vehicle sits there.
Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.
Hospital bills. Most hospitals have a program that cuts bills for people with low income, and you can apply months after the first bill.
Insurance offer. You can turn down the insurer's first offer and ask for more.
