Troopers placed the crash at about 5:25 p.m., roughly two miles south of Sparta, on the southbound side of MO-125 below Christian County T. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the tractor-trailer overturned and went off the road. The patrol said the driver was partially ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
What the Highway Patrol Has Reported
The patrol said his next of kin has been notified. It has not released the driver's name. The patrol has not announced any charges, and it has not said what led to the crash.
Vehicles from a serious crash are often towed to a secure lot and held for inspection. That is a standard step, and the vehicles can be held for weeks.

Funeral costs. Every state has a victim fund that pays funeral costs after some crashes, and the fund decides who qualifies.
Survivor payments. If the person who died had worked, their spouse or children may get monthly Social Security payments. Applying early matters.
