How the Highway 18 Semi Rollover Unfolded

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff's Department and the Clear Lake Fire Department were dispatched to the scene, where a semi-truck had rolled over near the Interstate 35 southbound on-ramp. The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff's Department said Naber was westbound on Highway 18 and entered the off-ramp before his semi-truck went into the ditch. The truck rolled and came to a stop on its passenger side. Firefighters had to extricate the driver, Naber, from the cab. The fire department then took him to Mercy hospital for his injuries.

What Is Known After the Clear Lake Crash

No charges have been announced, and the extent of Naber's injuries has not been released. The sheriff's department has not said whether a crash report has been made public. Authorities have not reported whether the ramp was closed or when it reopened.

New information about a crash usually comes from the investigating agency, often through a news release or its social media pages. Updates can be days or weeks apart.

Affected by an accident like this?

Here is what people in Iowa usually need, in the order it comes up.

  1. Emergency care. Emergency rooms must check and stabilize you, even if you can't pay. The bill comes later.

  2. Your vehicle. Tow yards usually charge for every day a towed vehicle sits there.

  3. Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.

  4. Hospital bills. Most hospitals have a program that cuts bills for people with low income, and you can apply months after the first bill.

  5. Insurance offer. You can turn down the insurer's first offer and ask for more.
