Driver Killed in Riverside Car Accident
The driver has been identified as Michelle Hunt, 72, of Corona, who died at a hospital after a crash at Adams Street and California Avenue.
Michelle Hunt, 72, of Corona, was killed in a car crash at Adams Street and California Avenue in Riverside on November 5, according to the Riverside Police Department.
How the Adams Street Crash Unfolded
The crash happened shortly before 3 a.m. Police said Hunt entered the intersection in her sedan when a second car struck her. She was in grave condition when she reached Riverside Community Hospital, where she died about four hours later. Police said the other driver left the scene and was found and detained near Adams Street and Arlington Avenue. A police detective said officers saw signs consistent with alcohol intoxication when they contacted him.
Where the Riverside Police Case Goes Next
The other driver has been identified as Jose Angel Campos Andrade, 30. Police said he was arrested hours later and held at the Robert Presley Jail on suspicion of felony DUI and of leaving the scene of a crash that caused a death. Police said he was taken into custody without incident, and bail information was not available. Police said prosecutors at the Riverside County District Attorney's Office were expected to receive the case for review on Monday, unless he posts bond over the weekend.
An arrest at the scene is often only the first step. Formal charges are usually decided later by prosecutors.

Lost someone in a crash like this?
Here is what families in California usually need, in the order it comes up.
Death certificates. The funeral home or the family can order them, and banks and insurers each usually want a copy.
Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.
Funeral costs. Every state has a victim fund that pays funeral costs after some crashes, and the fund decides who qualifies.
Survivor payments. If the person who died had worked, their spouse or children may get monthly Social Security payments. Applying early matters.
Insurance offer. You can turn down the insurer's first offer and ask for more.
