Two drivers, Kiyah McManus, 21, of Circleville, and Logan Spray, 43, of Waverly, were hospitalized after a head-on car crash on US-23 in Ross County on October 29, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The Afternoon Collision on US-23 Near SR 159
The crash happened at about 3:20 p.m. near the exit ramp for State Route 159. Troopers said McManus was driving a 2015 Kia Soul north on the exit ramp, traveling in the wrong direction. Troopers said Spray was driving a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta south on US-23 and was trying to exit onto SR 159 when the two vehicles collided head-on.
Springfield Township EMS took McManus to Adena Regional Medical Center, and she was then flown by MedFlight to Grant Medical Center in Columbus with non-life-threatening injuries. A MedFlight helicopter carried Spray from the crash site straight to Grant Medical Center, and her injuries were also described as non-life-threatening. A juvenile passenger in the back seat of McManus' car was not hurt and was released to family members at the scene.
What Troopers Did After the US-23 Crash
Crews from Springfield Township Fire and EMS and Green Township Fire and EMS helped at the scene, as did the Ross County Sheriff's Office. US-23 and the SR 159 exit ramp were closed for about 30 minutes while troopers carried out their initial investigation. The patrol has not announced any charges.
A full investigation into a serious crash often takes weeks, and sometimes months. Investigators usually wait for vehicle data and lab results before they finish their report.

Hospital bills. Most hospitals have a program that cuts bills for people with low income, and you can apply months after the first bill.
