The driver has been identified as Tisha Muntz, 52, of Gordonville, a former Whitesboro ISD teacher who died in a Thursday morning crash on US 377.
Tisha Muntz, 52, of Gordonville, was killed and another driver was hurt in a car crash along US 377 close to Whitesboro on Thursday.
What Happened Near Reast Road on US 377
The Texas Department of Public Safety said a pickup truck heading north hit Muntz's SUV, which was traveling south, near Reast Road. The collision happened Thursday morning. According to the department, the pickup's driver was seriously injured. US 377 north of Whitesboro was shut to traffic afterward, and the Grayson County Sheriff's Office asked motorists to stay away from the area.
Muntz had worked in the Whitesboro school district for several years, including the most recent school year, the district superintendent said. Her classes spanned both elementary and high school, and she had also served as a cheer sponsor.
Where the Whitesboro Crash Inquiry Stands
The crash is still under investigation. No charges have been announced. Whitesboro ISD put off its senior pep rally planned for Friday after her death, and no new date has been set.
Investigators often ask nearby homes and businesses for camera video soon after a crash. Many systems record over old footage after a few days or weeks, so they move fast.

Here is what families in Texas usually need, in the order it comes up.
Death certificates. The funeral home or the family can order them, and banks and insurers each usually want a copy.
Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.
Funeral costs. Every state has a victim fund that pays funeral costs after some crashes, and the fund decides who qualifies.
Survivor payments. If the person who died had worked, their spouse or children may get monthly Social Security payments. Applying early matters.
Insurance offer. You can turn down the insurer's first offer and ask for more.
