Driver Injured in Longview Car Accident
The driver has been identified as Motion Jay, 23, of Longview, who was taken to a hospital with serious injuries after a morning crash on Terry Avenue.
Motion Jay, 23, of Longview, was seriously injured in a car crash on Terry Avenue in Longview on October 27, according to Longview Police Captain Tim Watson.
What Happened on Terry Avenue in Longview
Police were called around 9:50 a.m. to the 2700 block of Terry Avenue, close to John Null Park, where a lone car had hit a tree. Officers found a silver Chevy Sonic sitting off the road with heavy damage. The front hood was badly crushed, and the back of the car pointed almost straight up into the trees. The driver and only occupant, Jay, was found walking near the crash site. He was taken to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center and then moved to a higher-level trauma care facility.
Where the Longview Police Investigation Stands
Watson said the preliminary investigation indicates that speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash. Test results from the lab have not come back yet, and police are still investigating. No charges have been announced.
Blood test results from a state lab can take weeks. That is why charges in these cases sometimes come well after the crash.

Here is what people in Washington usually need, in the order it comes up.
Emergency care. Emergency rooms must check and stabilize you, even if you can't pay. The bill comes later.
Your vehicle. Tow yards usually charge for every day a towed vehicle sits there.
Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.
Hospital bills. Most hospitals have a program that cuts bills for people with low income, and you can apply months after the first bill.
Insurance offer. You can turn down the insurer's first offer and ask for more.
