One person was injured in a car crash on the Staten Island Expressway in Staten Island on Monday, November 2, according to a spokesperson for the FDNY.
What Happened on the Staten Island Expressway
The FDNY said it got a report at about 4:55 a.m. of a car on the expressway's New Jersey-bound side. The spot was close to the Exit 12 ramp serving Todt Hill Road and Slosson Avenue. Emergency medical crews brought one person to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton. The FDNY spokesperson did not describe that person's condition.
How Long Lanes Stayed Closed
According to emergency transmissions, the two right lanes heading toward New Jersey were shut at first while crews responded. A video clip posted to the Citizen app showed every westbound lane closed for a time as responders removed debris. No names have been released for anyone involved, and no charges have been reported.
New information about a crash usually comes from the investigating agency, often through a news release or its social media pages. Updates can be days or weeks apart.

Crash report. The crash report is usually ready a few weeks after the crash, and you can still get it later.
Hospital bills. Most hospitals have a program that cuts bills for people with low income, and you can apply months after the first bill.
