3 Injured in Ringgold County Car Accident
The crash happened around 10 a.m. Monday on Highway J55 in Ringgold County, and three people were taken to hospitals.

What Happened on Highway J55
The Iowa State Patrol said the crash took place around 10 a.m. Monday where Highway J55 meets P68. Authorities identified the three buggy riders as Enos Swartzentruber, 45, Jonathan Swartzentruber, 16, and Jacob Swartzentruber, 15, all of Lamoni. They were riding in a non-motorized buggy pulled by a horse.
The patrol said a westbound 2017 Ford F250 pickup struck the back of the buggy and the horse and buggy went into the ditch. The pickup's driver was a 50-year-old from Kellerton. Ambulance crews took the three riders to Methodist Hospital and Mercy Hospital, both in Des Moines, and to Decatur County Hospital.
What the Iowa State Patrol Has Not Released
The Iowa State Patrol has not announced any charges. The patrol has not released further details about the condition of the three people hurt.
