2 Injured in West Union Car Accident
Authorities have identified the drivers as Barry Koehn, 28, of West Union, and Troy Marquette, 56, of Waterloo, who both reported minor injuries in a crash on Filmore Road.

How the Filmore Road Crash Unfolded
The collision took place at about 5:54 p.m. on Filmore Road, in the 11000 block. The Fayette County Sheriff's Office said a horse had gotten out of a nearby home and ran onto the road. Deputies said the driver of a white 2017 Ford F150, Barry Koehn, 28, of West Union, struck the horse.
Deputies said the animal was then thrown into a red 2018 Ram 2500, which was driven by Troy Marquette, 56, of Waterloo. Both drivers reported minor injuries. The horse was killed, and both trucks were too damaged to drive and were declared total losses.

The West Union Police Department, the West Union Fire Department, Emplify Health EMS and Torkelson Auto all provided assistance at the crash site. The Fayette County Sheriff's Office has not announced any charges.
