A woman was flown to Albany Medical Center after a late morning crash at Route 9W and county Route 51.
A woman was injured in a crash between a car and a beverage truck at the intersection of Route 9W and county Route 51 in New Baltimore on October 28.
How the Route 9W Collision Unfolded
A Nissan Altima sedan and a Gasko & Meyer beverage truck collided, and the crash was reported at about 10:26 a.m. Afterward, the Nissan was sitting in a ditch along the east side of Route 9W. The woman, who had been riding in the Nissan, was taken by helicopter from the scene to Albany Medical Center at about 11:30 a.m. State police did not identify her. Nicole Anatriello, who owns a business next door, said the crash "sounded like a bomb going off."
What Is Known About the Route 9W Response
State police said at noon that more information was not immediately available. Police have not released any information about the truck driver. Responders came from the New Baltimore Fire District, state police, the Greene County Sheriff's Office and paramedics from both Greene and Albany counties. Around noon the roadway remained closed, and drivers were sent onto County Highway 61.
